I previously posted about my Stone Machine Electric drum kit. So why not post about my other setup? Well, OK!

Though I labeled it as my second or other kit, it is the one I recently play the most since it is set up at home. My SME kit is at the rehearsal studio. This is a circa 1980 Ludwig kit. It is a black and white badge series I believe. I took off the badges when I refinished them.
My good friend Terry gave me the shells for this setup. When he was teaching in Fort Worth, he cam across them at the school he was teaching at. Not sure how he was able to get them, but I won’t complain.
They originally had a chrome covers on them, and the inside of them had that old Granitone paint job. I think that was used on the low tier Ludwigs to hide wood imperfections. The kit had a dampened sound, so I spent a good amount of time removing the Granitone along with all the adhesive that held the chrome veneer on.
The look, and especially the sound, vastly improved with the refinish. I did put some aftermarket kick legs on it because I couldn’t find any replacement spurs.

The set us a 12, 13, 16, 22 kit. I’m not currently using the 13″ tom, though I have thought about it recently. All the cymbals are Paiste. Hardware is a mix. I recently painted a big head on the front of the kick drum. Almost forgot I have been using my old Sonor snare with this kit.
Thus is the kit I used on The Mystic Crib recordings, so you can hear it in all its glory there.
