In my alternate musical life, I play drums and sing in Stone Machine Electric. We’re a three-piece heavy psych/stoner rock band. Up until earlier this year we were a two-piece band. We’ve been at it since the summer of 2009. That’s like a quarter of my life now that I think about it.
We have a show this Friday at The Cicada in Fort Worth. The Cicada used to be Main at South Side (MASS) up until it closed either this year or last. Don’t quite remember. It will be kind of a metal show. We don’t really consider ourselves metal, but I can see it since we’re more of the OG Black Sabbath influenced type of band. You know, like ALL of the stoner rock bands, haha!
Speaking of metal, the Fort Worth Weekly nominated us for best metal band this year. But don’t vote for us, as we’d like to maintain our decade long losing streak.
