Show Recap: Stone Machine Electric, Ox Combine, and Inverted Candles

Last Friday, we played The Cicada for the first time. We = Stone Machine Electric. And, we’ve actually played this venue before when it was MASS. Overall, it was a fun show.

Inverted Candles

Inverted Candles opened the show. They describe themselves as a black metal band. Can’t say I’m too familiar with the genre, but I liked their set. Not much of a non-clean vocal enthusiast, but I’m good with it if the sound fits. And the sound live seemed to work well. The instrumentation is great, and I love the use of keyboards too.

Ox Combine

Ox Combine, to me, is that old school metal. A bit of a mix of metal leaning towards thrash with a punkish edge. Solid three-piece band approach. I should have grabbed a CD, so maybe next time.

Stone Machine Electric

We closed out the night. It was fun figuring out how to fit on stage. They added a slightly small drum riser to the stage, so I had to alter my stands a bit to fit on. Literally played up against the wall. Our set seemed well received, and definitely had fun on stage.

We have another show on December 9th at Three Links in Deep Ellum with Temptress, Destroyer of Light, and The Deep. Come out if you can. Click HERE for tickets.
