Most of the new music I’ve been getting lately is based on what I see over at The Obelisk or Third Eye. Basically, places I see posting reviews of music I think I’ll listen.

The first pass at listening to Moon Coven’s Sun King did not leave much of an impression on me. But, after a couple more listens it has stuck with me. I think this is definitely an album worth purchasing.
I’m not sure what it is, but this album, to me, has a slight undertone of punk to it. Not sure if it’s the vocals (probably) or the guitar. Saying that, they do trod through the familiar Black Sabbathian soundscape with their classic sounding heavy music.
I’m still not good with going track by track, as I’m not “intentional” with my listening habits. If I wanted to be better at this, it might be helpful to read the liner notes or something.
Enough about my shortcomings. Moon Coven has been around for a minute, and this is their fourth album if I researched that correctly. I’d say it’d be worth my time going through their catalog to see where they started and how they got here.
Sun King is a great album, and I’ll revisit it until something distracts me. That’s the circle of life when listening to music.
