I know I’ve been neglecting this blog over the holidays. I’ve been busy in the sense that I’ve been busy doing family stuff or nothing at all. I’m sure you understand. But, let’s finish this list and get ready for next year’s onslaught of new music.

Starting off my top 5 are The Infamists from Denton, Texas. Essentially locals here to me, this trio can hammer out some boogie inspired hard rock and have a great live show to boot.

I love this album by Haurun (review here). Love the vocals that sometimes give a nod to Acid King, but definitely their own sound. This one delivers.

We (Stone Machine Electric) recently had the pleasure of playing a show with Temptress. Great show with great friends. See is the kind of album that touches a lot of terrain sound-wise. I want to call it stoner metal, but it is more than that. Love when the dual vocals of Kelsey and Christian kick in.

One I’ve come back to a lot. Just love the energy this album gives off and that being matched in their live show. Howling Giant is a can’t miss show for me.

I haven’t said anything about this album. I’ve listened to this album more than any other this year. Lords of Data is a proggy psych rock masterpiece front to back. Great compositions with a great compliment of vocals to match. Not sure why this hasn’t topped other folks’ lists.
Hope you had a good musical year. Hope to make next year even more musical.
