Review: Ambrosia by One-Eyed Monsters

Been slacking on the blog since the start of the year, so let’s try to get this going again with a new album review.

One-Eyed Monsters released Ambrosia on January 5th, 2024. So, this is still a fresh release.

Ambrosia by One-Eyed Monsters

This group hails from the local DFW area, though my guess is Fort Worth more specifically. I could be wrong, but no matter.

This album is a great blend of psychedelic stoner rock. Slow to moderate tempo songs that you’ll catch yourself bobbing your head to or just spacing out as you stare blankly through whatever is sitting on front of you. Because at this point, the grooves have set in and you’re just along for the ride.

And yes, you do hear organ on this album. I think it is fantastic when it is mixed in right and not overtaking, and this album does it. If I had to pick a favorite track, I’d go with The Green Sleeper. But honestly, this album is a good whole listen, and that’s how I like it.

The only complaint I might have is that there was not a sticker included in my cassette order! Haha! Me and my freaking stickers.
