So, I spent this past weekend with the rest of Stone Machine Electric recording our next album. Had a great two days tracking six songs with Kent Stump at Crystal Clear Sound (also of Wo Fat in case you don’t know).
It is always a bit nerve-racking to get prepared for this. I’m going over the songs until I think I have them down pat. I should since some of them are going on a year since being written. And when you get set up, you have to somehow calm down and not overthink it.
WC probably had the most work with guitar overdubs and solos. I did do some theremin and HC-TT overdubs to add some layering to a couple of songs.
I think my vocals came out pretty well. I did have a few spots where I started off wobbly, but just went back and fixed them.
Great experience, and awesome sounding to have that bass in there. Erick made our stuff sound much better!
Now time for mixing and mastering. Then it’s off to see who wants to work with us and release this bad boy!
