Small Stone has been releasing some great albums lately. The latest Sundrifter is excellent, and Haurun’s first album is spectacular. Pentasomnia by Iota is no different.

The opener, The Intruder, opens with this kind of bluesy sound. It slowly morphs into its heavier bridge and then back down before it transitions into the next track, The Witness. This is where it gets a bit grungier.
The Returner starts off a bit Earth-ish, which I am always down for, though short-lived once the vocals kick in. There is no disappointment there either with the dual vocals on this track. Also dig the ebb and flow of the solo sections around more bursts of vocals before going back down to exit the song.
The Timekeeper and The Great Dissolver round out the album and carry on the tone and impact set by the other songs on the album.

I got the record in the mail a few weeks ago, but I still haven’t had a chance to properly spin it. We’ll see if that only improves this one.
