Show Recap: Destroyer of Light, Temptress, Sons of Gulliver, & Lotus Lords

Flyer for the show

I was originally planning on going to the All Them Witches show that was happening on this same evening, but when I saw Destroyer of Light post their tour dates also noted they were going on indefinite hiatus, I quickly changed my plans. I’ve seen DoL plenty of times as they’ve come through town, so I couldn’t miss this one. I’ve never seen All Them Witches, but I know this was the better choice for me.

Lotus Lords

Lotus Lords kicked off the evening. They have a heavy metal sound and lean into the stoner rock side. Mid paced tempos and gruff vocals are what you can expect. Great start to the evening.

Sons of Gulliver

Next up was Sons of Gulliver. For me, this two-piece (bass and drums) mixes up blues, punk, metal, and stoner rock sounds. Good energy and great set.

Destroyer of Light

Destroyer of Light brought their new album to life (review here), and I loved every minute of their set! From start to finish, it was what I wanted to hear. Giving love back to the crowd, they thanked everyone for being there for the final night of their tour. And I thank them for coming through town!

Temptress

To close out the night, we got Temptress! Always great seeing them play, and also thanking DoL for being who they are and sharing their music and creativity with everyone.

So glad I made it to the show, but slightly bummed it may be the last. But I know I’ll see them in other projects they have going on. Look out for Slumbering Sun, Temple of Love, Cortege, and The Flood.
