Review: Under the Endless Sky by Cortége

This short masterpiece just released on May 10th, 2024. As I type this, the cassette I ordered is in route.

Under the Endless Sky by Cortége

As Part 1 starts, you get the feeling that your being pulled into some sort of movie soundtrack. My take is that this is what it would sound like if David Lynch wrote a spaghetti western – this would be the sound he’d want.

It’s hard to review this album track by track. The songs flawlessly blend together. Even with the changes in mood and adjustments to tempo, you don’t notice the transition from one to the next.

But back to the movie soundtrack subject. I could easily see this as a replacement to Kill Bill. It makes some of those movie scenes pop in my head, like when they’re at the church for the wedding.

Really dig this short album, and I wish it was three times as long. Guess I’ll just set it on repeat.
