I’ve been following Big|Brave since they released A Gaze Among Them in 2019. I love the heft of their sound in combination with the nuanced vocals.

Their latest, A Chaos of Flowers, brings that same energy, weight, and sound. Even though the drums sound minimalized and pulled back, it still works effectively for the album. And that’s coming from a drummer, but I’m the kind that likes them to fit into the song.
This is also one of those albums that you want to listen to as a whole. While there are starts and stops to songs, the order of them flows seamlessly. That also makes it hard to pick out a favorite track, but it’s not like you need to.
The best way for me to describe their sound is to say it’s like a mix of Earth, Sonic, and a dash of Björk (mainly the vocals). They lean into a slow, heavy sound and add a bit of noise to that.
So, if you dig the aforementioned bands or any slow paced heavy outfit, I think you will dig A Chaos of Flowers by Big|Brave.
