Another week night spent in Denton. Guess i can’t rely on Facebook event pages for accurate details. I missed seeing Faded Night. Ug.

Seer kicked off the show, or so I had thought, or at least for my late arrival. Their sound is a blend of stoner rock and metal, but heavier on the rock. Found it funny they asked if anyone knew what moshing was, being the old geezer I am. But the song they played after didn’t seem to warrant moshing. Maybe I was expecting more of a faster song or something. No matter, good set!

Slumbering Sun rolled onto stage next. It’s been a minute since I listened to them, and it was most refreshing to see them live. Great melodic doom sound. I love the dynamics in their songwriting and arrangements. Their set could have been longer, I wouldn’t mind!

Volume Creep closed out the show. This quintet was more of a 90s sounding band compared to the rest of the lineup. They were a weird mix of Everclear and Weezer. One guitarist needed a capo for one of their songs. The sound guy ran up and gave him one, only to notice his was on the headstock of his guitar.
Good times!
