Started the day with coffee and donuts at Krispy Kreme. I know, right? Ha! This day was mostly spent looking around the Shinjuku Station area at shops and stores.

First stop, or rather walk by, was the Godzilla head at Hotel Gramercy. I’m not sure if you could visit it face to face, but great photo opportunity.

What kind of person would I be if I didn’t check out some music stores here. Shimamura Music seemed to have a bit of everything except acoustic drums. Not that I was planning on getting anything like that. They do have a small Casio keyboard I might grab before heading home. It should fit in my suitcase.

We also hit up a few record shops. Strangelove was the first one. I think everything in this store was either a bootleg, TV special burnt to disc, or a radio broadcast burnt to disc. I didn’t come across an actual album, so to speak. Record City Shop was next. They had an organized selection, but it was way to warm for me to stay in for long. The last shop was Red Ring Records. Nice little shop. I found a few 7″ records I was interested in, and settled on getting a Pink Floyd 7″ with One of These Days and Seamus. The shop keep mentioned it was from or had something to do with a wrestling TV promotion.

Of course, had to stop and take photos at any temple or shrine we came across, along with other architecturally interesting buildings.

For lunch, we stopped at Ecchan Ramen. The lady was kind enough to walk us through the order kiosk, as not all of them have an English translated option. Mr. Horn and I both had the pork ramen with extra meat and a pint of Sapporo. I’m not a soup guy, but the Ramen was delicious – oiishi as they say.
After that, we headed back to the hotel for a break, or nap in my case. Jet lag was getting me this day.

Then, it was back out to go browsing shops and seeing the evening sights. Mr. Horn picked up a few things. I browsed a lot to no avail. Stopped for a coffee and toilet break before heading back. Another adventurous day ends.
