Today was a day trip to the Shibuya ward of Tokyo. Maybe a little busier than Shinjuku, but who knows.

On the way to Shinkuku station, we stopped at the Hanzono Shrine for more photos of cool architecture. When we got to the station, it was a little confusing to me on where we actually needed to enter. We did figure it out and made our way to the platform.
My only frame of reference for trains/subways is the DART rail. While the mode of transportation is the same, the users are different. It was pretty quiet, but it was packed tight – and it wasn’t rush hour. Fortunately, the ride was short. Never had people just push in and have a really small personal space. I forgot about that.

From there, we found our way to the main area that encompasses the Shibuya Crossing, a large pedestrian crosswalk the area is known for. Upon arrival, it didn’t seem that big. But later in the evening, it gets packed with people.

We made our way through the various shops and stores on our specific scavenger hunts. Went to a couple of music stores and pop-ups going on. There appears to be a large boy band scene here. There was one store that had girls lined up to take pictures with a backdrop display of some boy band.
We did hit the Mega Don Quijote here. I grabbed a few souvenirs before we stopped for a drink and then a few other stores. After that, we paid homage to Hachiko before stopping at Mom’s Touch for some burgers (chicken sandwiches).

After that, we headed to the station and took another minute figuring out how to get a ticket back. The ride back was “less” packed, and we found a route that dropped off outside the hotel. It seemed like this station was 100 feet below the surface based on the number of escalators and stairs we traversed.
