I really enjoy having so many friends who create music. I don’t have to go far for some new listening since someone is usually releasing something. Always some great choices.

Starmony, the second album from Slumbering Sun, gives us more of that melodic doom-gazy goodness. And Together Forever kicks right off and delivers on that. Keep it Secret follows, and is the one track that gets stuck in my head with its catchy lyrics and vocal and guitar harmonies.

The opening to Midsommar Night’s Dream is minimalist and dreamy right before the slow churning riff rolls in. I dig the composition of this tune. Great flow from section to section, and each is unique and complimentary to the ones around it.
The Solar Bear serves as a subtle break in the album and as an interlude between the heavy tracks. Danse Macabre chugs right in with its more metal approach. I dig the tempo shifts in some parts where it turns to double time and down to half effortlessly.
The Tower and Wanderlust round out the album. Great vocals throughout, and the riffs keep coming. Highly recommend this album, so go grab a record or add it to your streaming playlist.
