Probably the main reason there haven’t been many Slow Draw live performances is because I have no confidence and think no one wants to waste their time on this stuff. Another is figuring out how I want to perform some of the newer songs live without a backing band. And another is not on anyone’s radar to be asked onto a show.

Of those, figuring out how to play these songs live and solo is the main challenge. I’m torn between just playing electric guitar solo and playing with backing tracks or a drum machine. Just electric guitar seems a little empty sounding to me. But backing tracks seem like a cheat, maybe?
Maybe not. I’ve seen others do it, and I didn’t have an issue with it. I think as long as you make the show engaging and the music has depth, then the tools shouldn’t matter. Right?
I always say to myself, in my head – not outloud – everything changes all the time. Meaning, nothing stays the same, things change, and there’s always something new. You can’t stop it from happening, and complaining about it bears no fruit.
