In the never-ending search for new music, we end up in the outer limits that is Astral Magic.

The title track, In Space We Trust, opens the album. The first impression is that this is a spacier version of The Flaming Lips, but laid back vocals, and a different timbre. Lots of layered sound. Anti-gravity rolls in with a more riff focused base. Plenty of layers in this one as well, and a nice break down midway through.
Martian Archives has a mellow sound and a little somber at times. It still has its spacey tones.
The astral doomy-ness of Light-year Aparts serves as a great instrumental segueway into Ancient Pilots, which keeps that tone and brings in doubled vocals for a more ominous effect. Alien Emperor follows with a slight uptick in tempo and shifts to a rock type motif.
Stasis and Deep Frozen round out the album. The former is an all-out spacey jam, just taking you all around. The latter starts it off slow and mellow, and it provides a kind of notice musically that this journey is approaching the end. But, we know there will be another to jump on soon enough.
