Recording

Part of the summer plan was to get some recording done, specifically for Headeraser. Have I done any? Nope. Have I thought about it, at least? Yep.

There are a few of our songs I need to re-record vocals for. I need to smooth up a few spots. All I need to do is set up a microphone and have at it. There is also one song I need to finish structuring and re-record on the electric piano.

I’ve also been thinking about re-recording some of the drum tracks. Part of it is because they’ve been recorded over the past year or more, and just want to refine my playing on them.

Also, since I recently refinished and compiled a Slingerland kit, I want to compare it to the Ludwig kit. But that sounds like a lot of effort. I’d have to clear out the studio a bit and try to make room to have two kits set up, or just power through swapping out kits. Either way, it seems like a hassle.  Maybe I’ll simplify that process and just take test recordings of the individual drums. More time consuming, maybe, but it could give me some samples to create my own drum machine kit.
