The new Stone Machine Electric album, Faces, releases this Friday. About fucking time. I feel like we’ve been sitting on it for years. Fortunately for you, this is not a random blathering about units of measure.

To be a little more precise, most of the songs were written in 2022/2023, and two of them are even older than that. They were all recorded in March of 2024 and subsequently mixed and mastered shortly thereafter.
Shopping it around was next on the itinerary. Desert Records had decided not to pick it up since they were cutting back doing any releases. Seems we are kind of a “one and done” with record labels, having released single albums with Off the Record Label and Sludgelord Records previously.
I sent Faces out to all the labels I thought would give it a shot, and even ones I knew would say no, hoping they’d prove me wrong. I was not proven wrong. We ended up landing a deal with Argonauta Records in Italy. Getting a proper vinyl release and some PR behind us. Great so far, it’s just been a headache dealing with the tariff shit. But, it looks like we’ll be getting our product.

It’s that time of year or whatever where I’m like “was it worth it?” or “does anyone give a shit about this?” Being the only member of the band trying to push it forward with promotion and networking (which I’m horrible at) and artwork and such, it can get tiring and depressing. I just want others to enjoy the art that’s been created as much as I enjoyed making it.
Enough of my self-pity. Faces is a 6-song journey of wizards, hate, saturation, struggles, greed, and folklore. And some of those journeys have multiple paths.
