First thought of the morning is what the title of this post is. Not sure that makes sense, but that’s what pops into the head at 5:09am.

A touring band reached out to Stone Machine Electric to play a show this weekend on short notice, which I would have loved to do. Unfortunately, one of the guys wasn’t able to make that work out. Headeraser also wasn’t available, and we wouldn’t have been able to get in a rehearsal even if we were. I gave them a couple of suggestions for bands and also suggested Slow Draw. One of the other suggestions came through, but part of me really wanted to do a Slow Draw show.

I was prepared to rehearse a set all week, but now I won’t need to. I did rehearse last night. I mainly worked on two “new” songs. They are ones I have recorded but are unreleased. They both need memorization of the lyrics and coordination between guitar and synthesizer play. One of them I haven’t played in a long time. I decided to swap out a medley of songs from The People’s Department of Governmental Checks & Balances with that song. The medley didn’t feel right playing without drums, and I am still uncertain on using a drum machine.

Maybe one day I’ll man up for another Slow Draw show. Actually, I’ll be playing The Grackle on 11/2.
