I’ve bounced around on my setlist for 11/2 at The Grackle Art Gallery a bit. Seems like I need to make up my mind and get it locked in.
The first half has been locked in. I was originally going to include a couple of tracks from The People’s Department of Governmental Checks & Balances, but have since changed my mind. They didn’t work well without drums, and I can’t easily do samples and a drum machine at the same time on my iPad. So, I removed those from the set.
Also, I was bookending the set with a mellow guitar tune. It serves as a way to start softly as I progressively get louder and noisier, and then bring it back down. Instead of playing the same thing twice, I’m going to include Quiet Joy as the outro of the set. Same tone and feel as the first song I’ll play, so the progression is maintained.
I was going to make a background video for this show, but I think I’ll just keep it minimal and not. May see about cranking off the lights and just have some ambientness to set the mood. We’ll see.
