This was Stone Machine Electric’s album release show for Faces that released on September 26th. Gero with Argonauta Records told me when I was planning shows for the release to wait at least a month before having a show if we wanted to have the vinyl for it, just in case. Planning worked out perfectly, as we got the records 2 days before the show. Phew!

Grandelusion opened the show. In the stoner rock world, they fall into that grunge side. They give me that Alice in Chains or Stone Temple Pilots vibe. Great set! I thought it was a cool setup to have a projector playing on the kick drum head.

Lotus Lords followed. Good Ole stoner-doom riffage tearing up the night! I think this is actually the first time I got to see them, and glad they could play our show!

Sons of Gulliver brought their bluesy-sludge two-piece engine on and proved that you can still fill the air with just that combo of bass and drums.

We closed the night playing through the new album, and added in some old ones. We even were asked to do an “encore”, so we busted out Sum of Man before calling it. I totally fumbled through the keyboard parts on Just Another Wizard because my set was looping back though a delay pedal and the settings got jacked up. That through me off. But, it is what it is.
Fun night overall. Unfortunately, the weather kept a lot of folks home. It even flooded the back patio where our merch was set up. Many thanks to those who did come out, much appreciated!
