We had our first show ever in Arkansas at Hero’s in Fort Smith. The fellows in Redwitch Johnny were cool enough to help us out with this one.

Hero’s Irish Pub is your regular dive bar that hosts music. The difference here being one that only has music between 8-11pm. No complaints here, I’m cool with that! Apparently, in Arkansas, or at least Fort Smith, smoking is allowed in bars. Didn’t even cross my mind as different although I noticed the ash trays when I was setting up merch.
My oldest joined me for this weekender of shows to run merch for us. Much appreciated, and it made it easier for tear down and such not having to worry about it. He sold some records, CDs, and a shirt.

We opened the show with our longer set since it was just us and Redwitch Johnny. The crowd seemed to dig it. I actually dropped a stick during the set, which I don’t normally do. But due to this week’s circumstances, I didn’t practice my normal amount.
We did have a celebrity in the house. The person who played Pippi Longstocking in the 1988 movie was in the crowd. Her friend or manager asked me to make mention of it, so I obliged. She was in town for a comicon happening this weekend in Fort Smith.

Redwitch Johnny closed the show. They ripped up that stage, even though they professed to only getting in half a practice. Couldn’t tell. They knew how to work the crowd, and it was fun! We’ll look forward to playing with them again either here or in Tulsa when we’re able to book another one in the area.
