Mixing the Next

I just finished my first pass at mixes for the next Slow Draw album.

I’ve got 8 songs. Most of them were recorded in late 2024. I shelved them to record and release Living in a Land of Scarecrows and The People’s Department of Governmental Checks & Balances. You know, politics crept into my head, so I chose to excise them out via music.

I did end up re-recording a couple of songs. These got the guitar toned down, i.e. removed distortion from them. I did have drums on most tracks as well, but I’ve opted to remove them from the current mixes. Part of me thinks I’ll play these out live. We’ll see if that happens.

Sound-wise, these have gone in a more mellow approach compared to last year’s releases. Maybe more Earth-meets-Negativland with a mix of Om, or something like that. Your interpretations may vary.

I have an idea for the art, if I can find the specific photo wherever I may have stored it. And, I do have a title, but that’s for another time.
