Yes, I’m still in 2025. But don’t worry, there are a few January releases I’m looking forward to that I’ll write about. Until then…

Resolution at first listen gives me those QOTSA vibes. Straightforward, driving fuzz rock. It kind of gets you motivated to get moving.
The guitar riffs, as noted, are straightforward fuzz. That fuzzy tone, but with a crisp edge, if that makes sense. A little bit of noise-ish accents here and there. Quick changes and creative writing that leave you no time to settle in for long.
I’m always a fan of harmonized male/female vocals. Successfully done on Resolution. The female lead tracks make me think of Kim Gordon on how they are delivered, but in their own voice. Couple that with the semi-noise-ish guitar accents, and I feel like Pink Fuzz is the live child of Sonic Youth and QOTSA that got to choose which parts of their DNA they utilized.
The bass nicely fills out and gives heft to the crisp fuzzy tones. Locked in tight with the drums. This album is all pocket for the rhythm section, and not afraid to pull some counter beats to accent the riffs. Also not afraid to use the drum rims to create some stellar percussion and rhythms.
I can only imagine how fun it would be to see Pink Fuzz live. Guess I’ll wait and see if they come through town. It’s possible they already did, and I missed it. Eh.
