I came across another instrumental album recently released. I guess that is how 2026 is starting, no words, just riffs.

Glórach, a heavy instrumental trio from Tulsa, Oklahoma recently released 2026. It’s a 4-song, 34 minute stoner doom adventure. I don’t know why I used the word adventure, but it’s a good listen nonetheless.
2026 can be summed up as the ‘house of nasty riffs’. And what I mean is that the riffs are mean sounding and slow. Not so slow that your dragging your knuckles on the ground while pulling an 18-wheeler by hand, but slow enough to make your feet stick to the ground trying to keep the beat.
Being a drummer in a stoner rock band myself, I know playing slow is more challenging than people realize, and Jason locks into the slow tempo hard. No rushing or stammering, just solid thud after thud at a steady pace.
I think it’s worth a trip up to Tulsa. Maybe I can hook up a show for Stone Machine Electric and play with these folks. We haven’t been there since 2019. Look at me rolling my own shit into this review. Ha!
Anyway, go listen to 2026 by Glórach and just bob your head back and forth making that face. You know what face I’m talking about.
