Mannheim, Germany straightforward rockers, Capacopter, released their self-titled album in January. I agree with their description on their Bandcamp page, straight-up stoner rock.

Capacopter is 8 blistering tracks of stoner rock. Also per their self-described attributes, they deliver on that blend of 70s rock with modern sensibilities. The opening track, 600 Years, at first riff gives me kind of an AC/DC vibe. Not that they sound like them, but more of the straightforward riffage they roll with. You feel the stoner vibe in how turn that tempo knob down just a hair.
That’s the only comparison I have to the Australian rockers. Capacopter have their own sound. The vocals are equally delivered. Blending well with the guitar, and carrying the sound further. Mesmerizing and pulls you into the song.
There are dynamics to their songwriting. While being straightforward, they also dial up and down the intensity of their songs in a way that keeps a cohesive flow and gives you that auditory interest. It keeps you engaged in listening.
I probably used “straight” too many times in this post. This is one of those albums that once it starts, you know what you’re getting, and you know you won’t be disappointed.
