Nine Inch Nails in Dallas, Texas

Drug the family out to see Nine Inch Nails at American Airlines Center last night. It was a fun evening. And, the merch line was short, yay!

From our seats in section 314

Boys Noize was the opener. Essentially, the set was a DJ remix of Nine Inch Nails songs. The interwebs tell me this was a collaboration of sorts. Boys Noize was set up behind the sound board. The crowd filled in as he pounded away at beats and remixes. Good grooves and beats. Guess this was my first real DJ encounter.

Boys Noize

There was no real pause between sets. Before you knew it, the curtain in the center of the floor had dropped and Nine Inch Nails had started.

NIN in the crowd

After a few piano based songs, the lights dimmed as they made their way to the other stage. They did move back to the center stage another time for what looked like a collab set with Boys Noize, and again going back to the main stage.

They played all the songs you’d expect, and it was a good set. They finished the set/encore with Hurt, and let it feeback and distort out as the curtain closed. First time for me seeing NIN. I’d go again if they tour again.
