It’s been about a week since I’ve posted to the blog. Apologies, but not really. It is what it is, so, yeah. I have listened to more new music, hence, a new review.

While this album isn’t exactly new, released in September 2025, it is new to me. For the Love, the Death, and the Poetry, Nero Kane’s fourth album is a minimalist masterpiece with depth, darkness, and hypnotic songwriting.
The songs within cross related genres. Drone is stitched in with psychedelia, and furthermore buried in blues. The focus on the lyrics is enhanced by the minimalist approach used on the instrumentation. But the music has a heft that locks you in and holds you down so you can’t leave the album until it is over.
It’s nice to hear an album that sounds full and complete, even without drums. It gives me hope for my own endeavors as I navigate my own live performances, sans drums.
