Show Recap: A Flock of Seagulls and Birthday Fun

Never thought I’d be seeing A Flock of Seagulls in concert, but that happened last night. The Mrs birthday was yesterday, and they happened to be playing. She also noticed they had an online ticket sale, so it was a “cheap” night out.

Gene Loves Jezebel opened the show. They are great musicians, but at about 25 minutes, I was ready for them to be done. Nothing against them, just not vibing on the right frequency. They played a full hour. Ended up stepping outside for a bit since it was getting warm in there.

The set turn over was pretty quick, and 20 minutes later A Flock of Seagulls took the stage. They played a good hour and twenty minutes set. No complaints on them. I recognized maybe 10% of the songs they played. I think the singer was the only original member. As I expected, they closed their set with I Ran ( So Far Away). That is like their only hit, so that makes sense. My only “complaint” would be the music was to “happy” or upbeat. Maybe that’s just because of the doom and gloom that surrounds us or is just hovering over everything.

Anyway, it was a fun night. Inconsiderate twats and all.
