Grusom III

I always seem to be on the hunt for new music. Looking for the next sound to get stuck in my head. That means I’m around different blogs and websites looking for recommendations. Grusom’s latest popped up on that.

This is the first time I’ve heard of Grusom. They’re a psychedelic rock band Denmark. III is a journey through that 60s/70s style psychedelia. With the roll of that organ, it gives me that B-rated movie feel. Like I’m watching an old biker movie or some sort of medieval adventure, maybe even that old 70s horror flick. I’m usually hit or miss when it comes to retro rock bands, and Grusom falls in the former.

The mix of the organ is done very tastefully, which I think is a achievement since it can be easily overwhelming. They also intertwined well with the guitar work. The vocals are no less weaved into the compositions. The rhythm section holds it down so consistently and in the pocket.
