Maybe I’ve just been treating it as how we do things now. For myself, I would like to rectify that habit.
That habit being doom scrolling while listening to music. Especially if it is new music I want to dig into.
Unless you’re using it as background music, I don’t see the need to look at social media while listening to music. It distracts from the actual purpose of listening to music. The finer details in sound get lost. It makes it easy to miss the good stuff in the music. That’s different for everyone, what they get out of the music.
Thinking about it, it kind of spoils the music listening experience. Don’t take this as some old codger, “back in my day”, sentiment. I’m saying, for me, doom scrolling and music listening shouldn’t be a multitasking initiative. Only caveat would be doom scrolling for music on social media. The algorithm seems keen on fighting that for me. Ug.
