Meta this, you piece of shit

The title of this post sounds angry, but I’m over it now. In fact, the end is here and I welcome it.

Structural failure is inevitable

Basically, other than posting random crap on the band accounts I run, I have pretty much given up on social media. It has no real benefit for me at this point. I’m not much of an interactive person, and the main reason I am on it is for band promotion.

But, Meta has turned that into a money making scheme. Can’t blame capitalists for being capitalists, right? Now, they want me to pay a monthly fee, $50, to be able to post more than 2 links per month. Fuck that. Fuck that. I used to be able to circumvent it by crossposting from Instagram, but they closed that loophole. All that is left is the link sticker on Stories.

In all actuality, this is fine. I was wasting time looking at reels and shit, but this move on their part made me reevaluate that. If they want to keep people from leaving their platform to look at something else, whatever. I’ll just not waste my time on it then. I’ll jump on, make a crappy band post, and get right the fuck off.

Win…win.
