Road trip time of year. The Mrs and I are venturing out to see the state of Tennessee. We’ve been through it a few times, but never really stopped to check it out.
Day 1 consisted mainly of driving. We stopped in Marion, AR just outside of Tennessee. No touristy things that day. We got dinner from a local “mexican” food place that reminded me of Minnesota.
Day 2, Sun Studio was on the agenda. Just a 20 minute drive from the hotel. We got there, but had to wait for the next tour since it was full. So we wandered around for a bit and looked at the local street art.
The studio was interesting. Cool to hear musical history even if it’s not about musicians I listen to. Main mission was collecting stickers. Mission accomplished!
Back on the road, the next stop was Nashville. We stopped at Third Man Records to take a look around. They have a demo room for pedals, but it apparently wasn’t working. Boo! Found a Melvins blue session record, so I snagged it, along with some stickers. Lynda grabbed a shirt and magnet. Magnets are her thing.
Day 3 will be us roaming around Nashville.
