We spent today in Chattanooga. It was also our 26th anniversary!

We lucked out when we decided on the 8:20am tour slot at Ruby Falls. It was only us and another couple, yay! Less strangers = more fun! An interesting cavern, and the first we visited that uses an elevator.

Obviously, the waterfall at the end is the highlight of the tour. We hit “traffic” on the way back through the cavern. It was either an elderly group or a school group. Like I said, we won out on the time slot.

Art trip was next at the Hunter Museum. It’s a kind of cool building being a mix of colonial, brutalist, and modern architecture.
I was surprised to see a few pieces by some of the artists I like.

It’s no The Liver is the Cock’s Comb, but it was cool to see an Arshile Gorky piece.

And I don’t think I’ve seen any Christo things before now, though I’m probably wrong.

And, of course I dig the brutalist East Wing of the museum designed by Chattanooga architects Derthick, Henley & Wilkerson.
We had some warms bowls of ramen followed by some mochi ice cream things for lunch in the area. Then, we made our way to Rock City Gardens.

Here, they have a few “trails” and scenic areas. Mainly, it was the scenic views that won out.
