I haven’t really listened to much Green Lung before this album. Maybe I had a misconception of what their sound is. For some reason I thought it was folk doom ir something. This album is not it.

Necropolitan in no way made me think of folk doom. If anything, it had an 80s metal feel, for me, more than anything. Bands that popped in my head, but they didn’t necessarily sound like, were Forbidden or Death Angel. Maybe it’s the general sound, but that’s my first impression. Maybe I should go check Woodland Rites.
I will say the vocals are more a mix of Iron Maiden with Dio. And, there is an added occult sound going on with the synth and organ instruments added in. I’ve listened to Necropolitan about a half dozen times now. I like it a little more each time. Maybe it will grow on me, but if anything it might be your cup of blood-tinged tea. Drink up, if you dare!
